July is National Hot Dog Month
Yes, I know the month is 2/3s over and I should have posted about this earlier.
Coney Sauce
1/2 lb. ground beef
1 8-oz. can tomato sauce (1 cup)
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup water
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. chili powderSaute the ground beef in a skillet until browned. Break it up into fine pieces. (If you add water to the skillet, it makes the meat break up into finer pieces. Drain the water and grease from the pan before preceding with the recipe.)
Add the tomato sauce, onion, 1/4 cup water, garlic, salt, and chili powder. Allow to simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
Serve over cooked hot dogs in buns. Add shredded cheese, chopped onion, or other condiments if desired.
Makes enough for 12 hot dogs.
