Strawberry Salad
The recipe for the dressing that goes with this salad makes about twice what you will need. You can keep the extra in the regrigerator for about a month.
Strawberry Salad
3/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons dry mustard
1/2 small onion
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup vinegar
1 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons poppy seeds
1 bunch leaf lettuce
1 pint strawberries, sliced
1 avocado, sliced
1/4 cup toasted almondsPut sugar, mustard, onion, salt, vinegar, and poppy seeds in a blender container; blend well. Slowly pour in the oil (with the blender on low) until thick.
Wash and dry lettuce. Tear lettuce into bite-sized pieces. combine lettuce, avocado, and strawberries. Pour dressing over and mix gently. Sprinkle almonds on top and serve.
