For each gift you will need:
Clean 1-quart jar with lid
index/recipe card
decorations for the outside of the jar - ribbons, fabric, paint, silk flowers…

Chocolate Lovers Cookies
2/3 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
1/3 cup cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
pinch salt (1/8 teaspoon)
3/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
3/4 cups white chocolate chips

Pack brown sugar into the jar, keeping it as level as possible. Pour in sugar and level.

Evenly spoon in cocoa powder. Repeat with flour, baking soda, and salt. Level and tamp down.

Pour in semi-sweet chocolate chips and then the white chocolate chips, level.

Place lid on jar and include these baking instructions on an index or recipe card:

Chocolate Lovers Cookies (makes 3 dozen)

Ingredients:
Contents of jar
1 egg
3/4 cup butter, softened

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Pour the contents of the jar into a mixing bowl, add egg and butter. Beat on low speed until blended.

Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 13 - 15 minutes.

Remove from oven and cool on the cookie sheet for a minute. Remove cookies to wire rack.
